The cold progression

What ausmachtIm part of the second economic Pact of the Government repeatedly falls ‘Cold progression’ as a keyword. What is now, what do, and what’s wrong? what is?
We are in the tax law. The last few decades there inflation in Germany. This means that the purchasing power of money is less money less value.
Who had earned 1990 converted 2,000 euros could afford at that time more than if it now deserves 2.000 euro. Therefore the income increased over the last decades continuously – mostly alone to get the actual purchasing power.
The Steuertarif (from how much euro of taxable income which set of control shall be) has changed but little during this period. We pay continuously more taxes by inflation Einkommenssteigerungen. So income from 1980 to 1990 but not doubled, the time it pays the top rate.
This increase insidiously automatically also the tax revenues. This is called silent or cold progression.Progression means that better Verdienende must give a higher percentage than low paid as taxes.
How much do?
According to a current calculation of the Institute for applied economic research (IAW) whole 63 billion tax revenues flowed to solely by between 2001 and 2006 the authorities.
This makes so off a lot one must also not specifically justified before the voters.
How is it elsewhere?
Many countries are legally obliged to compensate for this cold or silent progression. Many eursopäische countries have no progression (who deserves more pay a greater share), but a single levels control (a single percentage for all). Thus the problem not arises.
What makes the business package with cold progression?
All announcements despite: nothing.Only the basic allowances is increased to 8,000 euro. This can bring EUR 3.5 billion 4,20 euros per month per taxpayer therefore.
The next Currywurst is therefore on the authorities.Whether’s benefits the economy, will tell. However, few are optimistic.
Last known dies large tax reform.
